However, when it does, it is usually very severe, leaving the victim unable to recognize any face, including his own, ever.
I actually found out about prosopagnosia before I found out about Asperger's---it was what led to my diagnosis of both. I have found in my life that the prosopagnosia has been much more of a severe handicap to me than the Asperger's. There are ways of "faking", or as I like to put it, "aping" human behavior for the Aspie. But there is no way to fix the prosopagnosia. It is extremely difficult to deal with. Now that I know that I have it (I learned about it at age 40), I realize how it affected so much of my life, especially as a child. I always thought I was the same as everyone else, maybe just a little worse at recognizing people. I didn't know that normal people don't have to work at recognizing others.

I wrote a blog entry about it: http://casadecranberry.blogspot.com/2011/05/do-i-know-you.htmlFiesta Cranberryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17047459157798580123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5751271189667675662.post-11682944399774744172013-03-24T17:54:43.466-04:002013-03-24T17:54:43.466-04:00To the best of my knowledge, neither condition pre...To the best of my knowledge, neither condition predicts or indicates the presence of the other or a third condition in peopleJohn Robisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07407165016025447113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5751271189667675662.post-85680077551493042862013-03-24T17:49:51.290-04:002013-03-24T17:49:51.290-04:00Thank you for this VERY insightful article!
